As a member of the class of 2009, you have achieved an important milestone. The faculty and staff of the University of Missouri, MU Direct: Continuing and Distance Education, and the Center for Distance and Independent Study, congratulate you on earning a Mizzou degree!
With your new alumni status, you join an international network of nearly 250,000 University of Missouri graduates. You also belong to another special — and growing — group of students who choose to complete their degrees either partially or completely online. One-fifth of Mizzou’s graduate enrollments, including one in three at the master’s level, now are in online courses.
Balancing the responsibilities of work, family and community has become routine for you as a nontraditional student. We applaud the dedication you have demonstrated and the sacrifices you have made to complete your education. This is a time to celebrate your accomplishments as well as those of your classmates. You are a full-fledged Missouri Tiger!
