Autism Education: Online Master’s Degree

Courses may be taken individually as a post-baccalaureate (formerly non-degree) student or as part of a master’s degree.
The autism online courses are interactive, semester-long courses. Courses are based on a weekly format that includes lecture, assignments, text readings and discussion. Students can choose the most convenient times to complete course work within the week, being mindful of weekly deadlines.
Students should begin by taking SPC ED 7300 Intro to Special Education, followed by SPC ED 8387 Seminar: Intro to Autism.
SPC ED 8387 Seminar: Introduction to Autism is a prerequisite for Methods of Autism and Social Competency Interventions.
Students who have taken SPC ED 7300, should take ED LPA 8428 Curriculum Leadership In their degree program of study.

- SPC ED 8387 Seminar: Methods of Teaching Students with Autism
- SPC ED 8387 Seminar: Social Competence for Students with Autism
- SPC ED 8387 Seminar: High Functioning Students with Autism
- SPC ED 8387 Seminar: Topic may vary each summer session
- SPC ED 8440 Advanced Behavior Management: Applied Behavior Analysis

- ESC PS 7160 Developmental Aspects of Human Learning
- SPC ED 8210 Using Assessment to Guide Instruction
- SPC ED 8350 Research with Exceptional Children
- SISLT 9467 Technology to Enhance Learning
- ED LPA 8428 Curriculum Leadership (for students who have previously completed SPC ED 7300)
Note: Enrolling in a course does not provide acceptance into the degree program. Students who are applying course credit toward a degree must be accepted into the degree program before they finish nine hours of course work (3 classes).
