* The Graduate Record Examination (GRE) is not required for consideration for admission. However, applicants with a GPA below 3.0 will be eligible for consideration with competitive GRE scores:
- If you have taken the GRE composed of Verbal, Quantitative and Analytical sections, a total score of 1500 is expected, or a minimum of 500 on each section;
- If you took the new GRE version composed of Verbal, Quantitative and Writing sections, a minimum of 500 is expected on Verbal, 500 on Quantitative and 3.5 on Writing.
Taking the GRE is strongly recommended for applicants who plan to continue on to a doctoral-level degree program after earning the master’s degree, even if you meet the other admission criteria.
Preference will be given to applicants with competitive GRE scores or who possess a valid teaching certificate in any discipline.
