Literacy Education: Online Master’s Degree

Master of education in learning, teaching and curriculum with an emphasis in learning and instruction and a focus in literacy (M Ed)Literacy

Earn an online master’s degree in literacy education from the University of Missouri College of Education. If you are interested in being part of a field that is evolving rapidly, literacy is the place to be!

Technology has opened the door to new ways of thinking about what literacy means – no longer is being literate a simple yes-or-no answer to the ability to read, write and speak. Our program helps you begin that journey using the very technology that is changing the face of literacy.

The more traditional concepts of literacy are now being taught “nontraditionally” as you earn your degree online. If your workplace is the classroom, our literacy program will provide you with new ideas and strategies to both engage and empower your students.

Note: This program does not provide certification in literacy or as a reading specialist, nor does it provide the initial certification required to become a teacher.
