The Missouri School of Journalism and the College of Education have partnered to create a way to prepare educators for the field of journalism education and to help existing journalism teachers be more effective in the classroom.

Journalism Education combines course work in a variety of areas which can help prepare a new teacher or provide additional expertise for journalism advisors who are currently teaching in the classroom. News writing and reporting, editing, media ethics, mass communications theory, scholastic publications, teaching theory and best practices, creative nonfiction, and expository writing, provide a foundation of skills for journalism educators as well as stimulate new approaches and improvement in learning and teaching.
