Family Nurse Practitioner Online Master’s Degree OptionFamily nurse practitioner

Nurses who have a baccalaureate in nursing and who want to practice with a high level of autonomy in primary care settings should apply to the family nurse practitioner area of study.  Family Nurse Practitioners provide a full range of primary health care services including health promotion and disease prevention, diagnosis and treatment of common acute episodic health problems, chronic disease management and health education to individuals and families.  All courses are offered online with two campus visits per semester required for the clinical courses. It takes a minimum of four semesters and one to two summers of full-time enrollment to complete the nurse practitioner areas of study. The curriculum contains courses and clinical practica designed to prepare nurses to function in the advanced practice nursing role of nurse practitioner.  Individuals who are interested in being part of a diverse student population in a top-ranked school that integrates well-developed clinical practice opportunities with varied research opportunities are encouraged to apply.
