Graduate Certificate in Public Health

The graduate certificate in public health is your introduction to an exciting new career. Whether you are a public health professional looking to expand your core knowledge or a professional in another area exploring the world of Public Health, this 12-credit-hour program can be the key. With greater emphasis on health promotion and disease prevention amid increasing health-care costs, growing recognition of global health concerns and new efforts to increase the nation’s preparedness in the face of natural disasters and terrorist attacks, all point to the fact that there has never been a better time to embark on a career in public health.

Students who complete the graduate certificate in good standing will be automatically eligible for admittance to MU’s Master of Public Health (MPH) Program should they wish to continue their studies.

The MPH is the standard professional degree recognized throughout the world for public health practice. MU's MPH program trains practitioners, teachers, researchers and administrators to plan, implement and evaluate programs aimed at enhancing health in human populations through organized efforts on the local, state and national level. For admission requirements and sample plans of study, please visit the public health web site.
