Computed Tomography Program
Computed tomography, or CAT scan, is a medical imaging modality that provides physicians with cross-sectional images of the body. Using X-rays and specialized computers, images are obtained that demonstrate internal anatomical features by rotating a thin X-ray beam around the body part to be visualized. Computed tomography images aid in the diagnosis of pathological conditions that are difficult to evaluate through conventional radiography.
The Computed Tomography Program at the University of Missouri-Columbia is designed to provide you with the necessary knowledge and skills to be competitive in today's labor market. All of the courses in this program are offered through distance education, so you can conveniently cross-train right where you are, while receiving the same personal attention you would receive in the regular classroom.
