MU Financial Aid/Scholarships and VA Benefits
Financial aid
Financial aid is available to qualified degree candidates who are enrolled at MU. Non-degree-seeking and post-baccalaureate students are not admitted to a specific degree program and do not qualify for federal financial aid. Financial aid includes: Student loans, grants, Curators' and University Scholarships (as well as other scholarships), Vocational Rehabilitation and some third-party billings.
Graduate students in a degree-seeking program who hold a qualifying assistantship or fellowship may be eligible for a GSSP fee waiver, which waives their resident and non-resident (if applicable) educational fees for courses which are applicable and relevant to the student’s degree program. For more information about the GSSP fee waiver program, visit the Graduate School web site.
FAFSA
Students can complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at the Financial Aid web site. For further information or assistance, contact the Financial Aid office, 11 Jesse Hall, via phone: 573-882-7506 or 1-800-225-6075 (Missouri, Kansas, & Illinois Residents), or visit the Financial Aid web site.
Financial aid status
Currently admitted students can check their financial aid application status through TigerFAN. TigerFAN is designed for student online access to MU financial aid information. Students will need to know their PawPrint ID and password.
Please note -- student financial aid information for academic year 2007-2008 (Fall 2007, Spring 2008 and Summer 2008) will be moved from the TigerFAN system to the myZou system. MyZou is the new MU web-based student information system that will contain student records from the following offices: Admissions, Cashiers, Registrar and Student Financial Aid.
You will access myZou through a Student Center at myzou.missouri.edu. You will be able to go online, log in and view your information from the above offices.
Remember that your student financial aid information for the current academic year -- 2006-2007 (Fall 2006, Winter 2007 and Summer 2007) will continue to be available in TigerFAN.
Credit balance
Students who anticipate having a credit balance on their account can choose to:
- leave the credit balance on their account
- direct deposit the credit balance to a checking or savings account
Part-time students
Student aid is based on full-time enrollment, but part-time enrollment is often considered for eligibility. If you anticipate being enrolled less than full time, review the enrollment requirements or contact a financial aid advisor.
