Payment Options for Students Living Outside of the U.S.

Students will receive an e-mail notification to their MU student e-mail regarding payment options and due dates each time a bill is presented. Due to the length of time that it will take for you to receive a billing statement and/or return a payment via postal mail, we encourage you to review your statement through the online service called Tiger Tracks.

Tiger Tracks allows you to view your billing statement (most recent through the past 12 months) and make a payment by credit card (fee applies) or electronic debit (no fee) if your bank has a U.S. branch.

If you are making a payment by check, the bank must have a U.S. branch or you could mail a traveler’s check made payable to the University of Missouri-Columbia. Students can avoid being dropped for non-payment by notifying the Cashiers Office if mailing a check close to the monthly due date.

MU Financial Aid: Federal financial aid is available to degree-seeking students and includes grants, loans, and graduate fee waivers.

Third Party: Include the following, and mail or fax a letter of authorization.

  • Your full name and student number or social security number
  • The time period their sponsorship covers (one semester or multiple semesters, for example)
  • Specification of the fees to be covered, or specifically not covered, under the agreement or a maximum dollar amount if appropriate
  • Specific authorization for the University of Missouri-Columbia to bill them on your behalf
  • The name and address of the sponsoring agency where the bills should be sent, with a phone number for us to call if we have questions.
After receipt of a student's enrollment form indicating third-party billing, an e-mail reminder will be sent to the student to follow up with their third-party payer. See guidelines for third-party billing
