Library Resources

The University of Missouri-Columbia Library System has many resources available through the main Ellis Library, branch libraries and the Law Library. These libraries serve the students, faculty and staff of the University.

Access is available electronically via MERLIN, (the Missouri Education and Research Libraries Information Network) or MOBIUS, if not held in MERLIN. Please note: If you live in Missouri, you may choose the closest MOBIUS location as the pick-up location for your convenience. The books must be requested through the MOBIUS Union Catalog.

For more detailed information on the libraries' electronic resources and the names, telephone numbers and e-mail addresses of distance education liaisons, see Distance Learning Support Services.

Local library access

To gain access to most local libraries and any University of Missouri system library ( Columbia, Kansas City, Rolla & St. Louis), students will be required to have an MU ID. Students can request one at MU Distance Student ID. Students will need to present a photo ID as well as the Distance Student ID at the Circulation Desks in order to check out books.
